Don’t forget an important part of the complexion: your neck. This evening neck cream is rich in skin-conditioning oils. For soft, smooth skin, massage a small amount into your face and neck nightly.

Here is an answer directly from the author, Janice Cox:

This is a very rich buttery cream. It is intended for nighttime use and I say that in the intro. The consistency is thicker than a normal face cream or moisturizer and the product is very oil-rich. Any one of the ingredients works well as a skin conditioner. You can experiment with the ingredients for a thicker cream add more cocoa butter and for a thinner cream add more olive oil. Storage will also change the consistency which I think they have already discovered. Warm spots will keep the cream slightly melted and cooler spots will make it more solid.

We may run this question and answer in an upcoming issue of The Herb Companion. Please email the city and state you live in at gdebacker@ogdenpubs.com. Thanks Sylvia!

I have a question regarding a recipe in Janice Cox's March 2010 article, Fresh Face Treatments. I made up a batch of "Anti-Agning Cream", but the consistency is anything by "creamy". It is liquid a room temperature and solid if I refrigerate it. Is this the way the product is intended to be, or did I miss something along the way?
