Mineral-rich kelp powder also can be used alone as a body scrub to remove surface impurities. Powdered kelp can be found in most natural food stores and Asian markets.
- ½ cup powdered clay
- ¼ cup powdered kelp
- ½ cup aloe vera gel
- ¼ cup seawater (or mix sea salt with distilled water)
- Mix together all ingredients to form a smooth paste or mud. Spread mud over your face and body. (Use a medium paintbrush to spread mud evenly.) Allow mud to dry 15 to 20 minutes.
- Shower with tepid water to remove mud, then gently pat skin dry. Follow with a rich moisturizer, such as cocoa butter or coconut oil, as this treatment can dry out your skin.
Note: If you don’t want to cover your whole body with the mud, just cover your upper torso.
