1. In a covered pot, simmer 6 slices of red (Panax) ginseng and 6 teaspoons of dried gingerroot in 2 quarts of water for 15 minutes. Let the brew steep for an additional 15 minutes. Drink 1 cup before each meal (2 to 3 cups per day).
2. Make a strong ginger tea by simmering 2 tablespoons of dried gingerroot in 2 cups of water for 15 minutes, and steeping for another 15 minutes. Soak a washcloth in the hot tea (not too hot!) and place it over the abdominal area for 20 minutes.
