Medicinal Herbs to Prevent Cervical Cancer: Immune Toning Tea

Immune Toning Tea

This tea combines vitex with sarsapa­rilla to detoxify the blood, astragalus to support the immune system, and dandelion to cleanse the liver and ginger to ­support it. The vitex makes this tea a complete formula but also affects its other­wise good flavor, so you might make the tea without it and take vitex in tincture or capsule form instead.

•1 teaspoon dried ­sarsaparilla root
•1 teaspoon dried ­astragalus root
•1 teaspoon dried dandelion root
•1 teaspoon dried gingerroot
•2 teaspoons dried vitex berries
•2 cups water

1. Heat the herbs in the water at a very low simmer for 5 to 10 minutes in a covered saucepan.

2. Turn off the heat and let the mixture steep, covered, for about 15 minutes.

3. Strain and drink, or store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

The recommended daily dose is 2 to 3 cups.
