Herbs for Health: Petroleum Jelly Salve

This petroleum jelly salve is a very simple preparation; just mix the active ingredient into petroleum jelly.

- 2 tablespoons chopped, dried herb
- 7 ounces petroleum jelly
- Simmer herb in petroleum jelly in a pan on the stove for 10 minutes, stirring well. Strain through fine gauze.
- Pour hot liquid into container. Seal after it cools and hardens. Store and use for up to 6 months (checking for mold or bacteria growth if exposed to heat and moisture).
