Making natural treats for your dog or cat is easy and fun....
- 1 cup distilled water
- ½ cup mild liquid soap, such as Castile
- ½ cup vegetable glycerin
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
Mix together all ingredients and pour into a clean plastic bottle with a pour spout.
To use, massage into damp fur. Rinse well with plenty of tepid or cool water.
Variations
Herbal Shampoo Blends
Add the following essential oils to 1 cup of Basic Doggie Shampoo mixture, or experiment to create your own custom blends:
Flea- and insect-repelling shampoo: 4 drops peppermint oil, 2 drops lemon oil, 2 drops citronella oil, 2 drops clary sage oil
Calming shampoo: 2 drops sweet orange oil, 4 drops lavender oil, 3 drops sweet marjoram oil
Deodorizing shampoo: 1 teaspoon dried cinnamon, 4 drops rosemary oil, 3 drops cedar oil
Fragrant herbal shampoo: 4 drops each sweet basil, lavender, clary sage, rosemary oils
